Sonnet 6: (Beyond a door)
It stands before me, that door
It stares at me, I look down at the floor.
A deep curiosity burns inside
What world lays beyond the other side?
Could there be horror waiting for me?
Hell fire and brimstone as far as the eye can see?
This is something terrifying to attempt.
This room has bred in me contempt.
But what I think is not necessarily true.
There could be a great green land with a sky that’s blue.
It could be even better than this cesspool.
To give up heaven is to be a fool.
Once opened it can’t be closed, so a choice comes to me
To open that damn door or to leave it be?
