The Boy Who Had No Heart
He had brown eyes ablaze with despair.
He had crimson lips and chestnut hair.
Hatred was seen on his every feature.
He was considered a splendid creature.
His shoulders and legs and arms all alike,
Could build and defend and redress and strike.
He could jump like a feline and run like a river.
Even arctic winds couldn’t make him shiver.
Joy never dazed him.
Pain never crazed him.
Death was afraid to come to his portal.
He was just a boy and a mere mortal.
He might have been strong and health and smart.
But something was missing; he had no heart.
