The Turn Out
It's funny how things turn out.
You acted so confident, without any dought.
You even believed that you were better than all three of us put together.
Were we supposed to be privilaged to be called your friends?
You sure were surprised when you realized that sometimes even that ends.
What did you expect?
You tossed us around like yesterday's news.
Did you really think we'd stick around to take this abuse?
Everyday your insults came out more and more,
Until we had no choice but to walk out the door.
You were cruel when you should have been kind.
You just didn't understand that good friends are hard to find.
Now you're just going to have to sit alone.
Completely and utterly on your own.
And you'll still act like it doesn't bother you.
Well, go ahead and do what you have to do.
In the end, you'll just run away and hide,
Since nobody chose to be on your side.
You made it this way at your own disgression.
And now you wonder why it takes more than just a simple confession.
You might want to protest and shout,
But it's still funny how things turn out.
