A Call to the Moon

This is a call to the Moon

Oh Moon
You have many names when you are full
Your name in January is Wolf Moon
...a time to reconnect with our animal instinct
in February is Snow Moon
...a time to remember the snow's goodness
in March is Worm Moon
...a time to remember earth's little creatures value
in April is Pink Moon
...a time when Earth is in the pink of health and vitality
in May is Full Flower Moon aka Corn Planting Moon
...a time to remember nature's many gifts
in June is Strawberry Moon aka Rose Moon
...a time to reflect on nature's beauty
in July is Thunder Moon
...a time to give thanks to the rain
in August is Red Moon
...a time to remember that our blood flows the same color
in September is Harvest Moon
...a time to be thankful to the farmers
in October is Hunter's Moon
...a time to be thankful to the hunters
in November is Beaver Moon
...a time to prepare for Winter and to recreate ourselves
in December is Cold Moon
...a time to appreciate the beauty of nature's frost,
icicle's and snow

Oh Moon
You have many phases that you pass through

Starting with a sliver of a New Moon
Which passes into the beautiful New Crescent Moon
Which shifts into the First Quarter Moon
Which turns into New Gibbous Moon
To which you finally become the ever luminescent Full Moon -
which sometimes you come to us dressed in Blue
Then back around as Old Gibbous Moon,
Last Quarter Moon, Old Crescent Moon
to start your moon cycle anew

So on your day, Monday, known to the ancient as Moon's-day,
We dedicate to you the following

Oh Moon
Your face is so full and luminous
Like that of a goddess
That no mortal could ever match

Oh Moon
When you shine down on us at night
You illuminate us with your feminine wisdom
that is vast beyond any school of knowledge

Oh Moon
Whatever form you shine down upon us in
You are the most beautiful being in the sky at night
With rays that are manna to our being when we moonbathe
in your glorious presence at night

Oh Moon
No matter who else does not show up at night
We know you will be there in the vast night sky
with full loyalty to those who recognize
your true beauty

Oh Moon
Before you leave us to let your Brother Sun
come out to shine brightly on us
in the day's sky
Please let us feel your moonray kisses
that will permeate our being forever
and haunt the hollows of our memories
until you come back to us once again
