All American Chocolate Cake
230 gm unsalted butter
300 gm castor sugar
2 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, shifted
1 cup hotwater
235 gm cake flour/ all purpose flour
1Tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup walnut chopped
1. Cream butter and sugar untill light and fluffy. Add vanilla essence and eggs
ane at a time.
2. Dissolve cocoa in hot water. In a separate bowl sift together flour, baking
powder and salt. Alternately add cocoa and shifted flour to the butter mixture.
Fold in walnuts.
3. Bake in a greased 20 cm. cake pan lined with parchment paper for 35 minutes
at 170 C until cooked. Cool overnight.
150 gm bitter chocolate or semisweet chocolate, chopped
3 TSP heavy cream
3 TSP unsalted butter
combine all ingredients in a saucepan and melt over medium heat. Cool slightly
before pouring over the cake.
OK try and bake in your gugelhoft cake pan and just pour the chocolate ganache
over the cake and see the effect -----wow
